Ashwagandha Golden Milk

$20.00

There are so many benefits to drinking Golden Milk (aka turmeric milk), a very common beverage in Ayurveda, which is the traditional wellness practice of India. This version also has added ashwagandha (a beloved plant in the Ayuverdic tradition) for vitality restoration. The turmeric and other spices are used to help promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Overall this beverage leads to decreased inflammation and better sleep quality.

Ingredients: Ashwagandha, Turmeric, dandelion root, holy basil, chamomile flowers, cardamom, cinnamon, black peppercorn (to activate turmeric).

Herbal Benefit Breakdown:

Ashwagandha: This herb helps tone down the nervous, immune, and endocrine systems making it a great plant for insomnia, exhaustion, sexual dysfunction, and chronic stress.

Dandelion Root: this herb is one of my favorites! High in vitamins A, B, and D and minerals like iron, calcium, zinc, potassium. Helps get digestion going and promotes healthy waste elimination, liver support, and cardiovascular support. As a whole, reduces risk of cancer.

Holy Basil: One of the holiest plants in Ayurveda (part of the mint family, but closely related to culinary basil). Helps to decrease pain and swelling, and helps the body respond to stress and restore normal function.

Chamomile: This herb reduces inflammation internally and externally through its special ability to relax muscles throughout the body, helping with stress, anxiety, tension, and insomnia.

Cardamom: This spice belongs to the same family as ginger, with warming properties to help balance blood sugar, improve digestion, and kill bacteria.

Cinnamon: This seasoning contains powerful medicinal properties including high antioxidant count, protection against heart disease, reduces inflammation, lowers blood sugar levels, and can prevent bacterial and fungal infections.

Black peppercorn: Contains piperine, which can help reduce headaches and nausea, but also enhances the absorption of curcumin (key component of Turmeric that’s not easily absorbed naturally) in the body.

Directions: Heat one cup of milk (whichever kind you prefer) with 1 tsp of ghee or butter. Let simmer 3 minutes. Pour contents of tea bag into milk, stirring with a whisk, for 5 minutes. Strain beverage over cup, add honey or maple/date syrup for sweetness, and enjoy.
